To each their own and opinions vary. My opinion is comparing the Montecristos "legally" available in the States with Cuban Montecristos is like comparing an El Mejor Espresso to an Opus X. There is no comparison.

Here's a list of cigar prices at one shop in Montreal I visited in June of '06, and I can pretty well guarantee that prices have gone up since that. You aren't even allowed to smoke in this place. Still wanna buy cigars in Canada??

Cubans in the US should go to any bank, exchange for Canadian funds and send that. They lose to much on the USD in Cuba since Castro placed a tax of sorts on USD and introduced the Convertible Peso. EDIT TO ADD: The Castros don't want USD (at least, that's their opinion in public). See above.

Nice review. These are always on the short list when I go to Cuba, but have seen very few and never a full box for some reason.

Well stated. Your last few reviews tell me you and I have a lot of the same taste preferences, and size as well. Really too bad that many manufacturers seem to be making a general move away from small RG smokes. There's quite a bit to be said about them.
