Ballast Point Sea Monster Imperial Stout while watching the Wizards game last night. Thanks MASPuros! Definitely a West Coast IS, pretty hoppy. Way too easy drinking at 10%! Followed with a Bell's Cherry Stout, which was not as good as I remembered.

Holy Crap that's a lot of good beer!

Great beer to have with a cigar. Baltic Porters are typically made with lager yeast instead of ale yeast. It gives them a really unique flavor.

I don't have a lot of experience with good rum, but my local had this on sale recently, so I picked up a bottle. I had a few glasses and enjoyed it. It is finally getting warm enough to smoke outside here in Kansas, so I grabbed a DPG Cuban Classic and poured a glass of the Ron. Now I get it...

Boulevard Rye on Rye while watching some Olympic action. Nice and spicy from the Rye in the beer and the barrel. Boulevard has been on a roll lately.

When you're starting out, sanitation is the most important thing. Even professional brewers spend most of their time cleaning things.

John's Grocery is a really great store. Worth the stop if you find yourself driving across Iowa on I-80. Tons of glassware and a good selection of beer. Iowa City seems like a pretty cool town, but I love college towns.

Southern Tier Gemini. Great DIPA. Plus I'm a Gemini!

Going to have to make some friends in Chicago. The Lolita and Madame Rose sound interesting as well. Juliet was a top 5 for me last year.

I think it is Mesquite smoked malt. I like smoked beers, so I thought the smoke was a little weak. Try an Aecht Schlenkerla or Alaskan Smoked Porter if you can get it. That's some smoke!

Grand Teton is kind of hit or miss for me. I liked the Black Cauldron, maybe a little thin, but pretty drinkable. The Lost Continent DIPA was really sweet. I like the Bitch Creek ESB a lot. I've never tried their 750ml bottles. They're pretty pricey.

Hopslam is coming out now as well!

Good stuff. My wife loves it. You're going to need somebody in Wisconsin. I don't think they even distribute out of the state.

Had a Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour this afternoon, and I'm getting ready to crack a Surly Darkness.
