    Smoke in Vegas?

I am most likely going to be in Las Vegas sometime during the first two weeks of May. Most likely the first week for a few days. Is anyone interested in getting together for a smoke? Any "must see" places other than casa fuente? I'll be driving from Calgary, Alberta so if anyone on the way...

Not Funny. Not funny at all.

My does that sound familiar but I just can't place it. :sign:

    why are they so expensive

The problem with non-cuban cigars in Canada is that I don't think many of the manufacturers deal directly with Canadian B&Ms. That leaves them having to purchase them on the secondary market, or from a reseller. The federal tax rate is around 100% with I believe a 5$ cap per cigar, and the...

    Gun Cost

12 ga. with with 00 buckshot would be great as long as you aren't in too tight of quarters.

a couple questions from a noob about cuban cigars

Well, I guess I can keep hoping though  ...I dread the day when the embargo is lifted and the quality and/or price goes into the crapper.

a couple questions from a noob about cuban cigars

Just like any other country of origin, there are great, ok and terrible cigars. Not going to change anything. Not going to happen in any of our lifetimes.

    LCDH Windsor

I have seen mold in most of the B&Ms I visit in Canada. At least the ones I have seen in Western Canada. When I made a trip to Vancouver a couple of weeks ago I saw some poor Monte#2s all dried out and badly cracked in a "cigar" rack in a gas station. They still wanted 20/stick for them.

    When did you start smoking?

I smoked the odd gas station cigar when I was around 16. When I was 18 I bought a Cohiba Robusto for my graduation smoke and I've been sliding downhill ever since.

Laws in the US regarding Canadian Citizens (and Canadian Residents)

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess being a somewhat young professional I my friend will not risk it when flying on company business. Not to mention I my friend is pretty sure I he is on at least the CAD customs guy's list for some questionable importation. :whistling:

Laws in the US regarding Canadian Citizens (and Canadian Residents)

After seeing the post about Suckling being busted for bringing Cuban cigars into the USA, I was just wondering, hypothetically of course, what the penalties could be, if any. I know of a "friend" who was 15 and drove with his parents to Mexico from Canada, and bought some Cuban cigars. Well...

    Trip to Mexico

As well, if you are an American citizen, it is illegal for you to purchase of consume any goods of Cuban origin...even abroad.

    Man Down!

Opened my cooler today to find this little surprise. It managed to get between the inner rim and the lid. I guess this means I need a bigger cooler.:smiley17: Sure made my smoking choice easy for today though.:smiley9: Draws fine and I massaged it out a bit. Just goes to show the robustness...

    UV Lights for Seal Inspection

Don't rule out a vendor just because the seal doesn't sparkle the way it is supposed to. Remember, this is Cuba we are talking about. Not exactly the pinnacle of quality control. ;)

    New Info on Cozumel?

Is there an easy way to get from Cancun to Merida? Or, are there decent vacation resorts in Merida? I just ask because I never know when I might end up in Cancun or Mexico in general.

Anyway to preserve a partially smoked cigar?

In short, no. I have done this once a long time ago and never again. If you only have 1/2 hour and don't want to "waste" part of a cigar, smoke a short cigar.
