:( Well gents, that is not the info I wanted to hear. I was looking for rave reviews of this most excellent of smokes. What a pisser. I guess after I burn this crappy smoke I will have a cool little slide top mini travel humidor for an Opus or something. That's too bad. The good news is I...

camacho liberty , Anyone tried the 07's

Hello all, I was down at my local store the other day and ended up picking up one of the Camacho Liberty o7's. They were highly reccomended by the owner so I figured I would give them a try. This one seems a tad dry so I will let it rest, but was wondering what you guys who have tried them...

Using adhesives in my desktop humidor

Another option is a hot melt glue gun, no fumes and sticks fast. I just built a frigidor from a wine cooler and used hot glue to adhear all the cedar lining as well as my fans and hygrometers, worked like a champ. see ya Mike

    Mike's Wine-o-dor

It has been working great. I did make a few adjustments to keep the condensation in check. I ended up removing the spanish cedar floor and reworking the drain tube that was blocked with the foam insulation from the factory. I drilled through the drain hole and straight through the bottom of the...

    Mike's Wine-o-dor

Mike, I was actually about to shoot you a PM and see how the bead set up was working out. Looks like all is going well with that set up. I am loving mine as well, it is the perfect set up for sunny Florida. Still holding 63f/65RH but I re stoke the beads about every ten days. I may use the...

    Wine Frigi-dor Smell?

I did the baking soda and hot water wash about three times, then left it open to air out for a few days. I lined mine completely with Spanish cedar after than and there is not a hint of plastic anymore. It was strong as hell when it was new tho. Fabrease? unscented...maybe.

    Ammo Can Project

Tim, The cigar boxes should have a nice strong Spanish cedar aroma, also the slight pinkish tint to the wood. I would wash out the ammo can really well and let it dry in the sun before starting, maby even a baking soda and water wash after it dries and another dryin g session to get the smalls...

    Fathers Day Opus Shipment

I just picked up six xXx about a half hour ago and asked. This is the last box my guy has so I only bought a couple. I had him check on availability for me last wednesday, he said the rep told him later on this month they will be delivered. However he could not tell me what he was going to be...

    Frigidor project

BT, I am also in the same boat with the temp variation. Mine reads 54 on the unit, but the actual temp on the center shelf is 64-65f. I would sure like to extend that wire a touch and place that bulb on the back of that center shelf to get an accurate reading, and also drop the temp a degree...

    Frigidor project

well guys, My understanding on the Vinotemp is it is designed to cycle on and off to save power. I think that is what's going on, the temp doesn't fluctuate enough to trigger a thermostat. The digital read out is way off, but I have it set at 54 and it has been holding 64f very steadily since...

    Frigidor project

Hello gents, well a few good points have been brought up and have been dealt with as they happen. The condensation issue , definitely needs a fix. I went with a drain tube connected to the drain a 3' run to a 1liter bottle, this will be below the cabinet and easier than getting behind it every...

    Frigidor project

BT, I was very careful to allow the unit to drain any condensation as it was designed to do. I elevated the cedar floor by 1/4" and cut out around the rectangular pooling area in the back bottom corner of the cabinet and gave it about 1/2" around before the cedar lining, so it is elevated and...

    Frigidor project

Brian, Yes definitely spanish cedar, I am making my singles trays right now, still deciding on final details as I go. It will be plenty big for my collection, I usually only keep a few boxes around at one time, a dozen boxes would be a huge supply for me. BUT if I did run out of space I am...

    Frigidor project

For your cedar , if you are just looking to line a humidor, I would check out www.internetlumber.com, the price for their 1/4" stock was about as inexpensive as I have ever seen, I will bet you would break even buying 8/4" and resawing it yourself. I was going to do the same until I found...

    Frigidor project

Yes sir, They are not very durable that's for sure. But having a damaged Avanti show up allowed me the chance to run it side by side with a new vino temp in my kitchen.I returned the Avanti for a refund, the VT did not need an additional temp controll so that is cigar money saved.

    Frigidor project

Hello all, I have been busy in the shop with a wine frige conversion. After lots of research I have decided a cooled humidor is a must down here, but do not have the $2k for a cooled custom job. So that leaves only one option, a thermoelectric wine frige. The Vinotemp 28TEDS is the cabinet I...

My Second Attempt at tthe GREATEST IDEA EVER!

Cool, I think you may have some success there. Not sure if you will get the whole thing cool or not but it will be a fun project. Look here for your fan fan I hear Avanti has very slow customer service. The fan is just slow speed DC fan, I just ordered two 25 cfm 80 mm fans from the above...
