    Will they dry up?

At 65, you should be ok. But I would still visually inspect the cigars for beetles, mold, or split cigars. If you see any evidence of beetles at all (black beetle, white larva, tiny little holes in the cigars, or loose black ash - the beetle droppings), then throw away any damaged cigar...

    Wine Cooler

Well, the drawback of a compressor cooling system is that it messes with humidity. Specifically, it draws humidity out of the air as it cools. It isn't a problem per se, as long as you can find a way to protect against humidity swings (e.g. store cigars in boxes, rather than out in the open)...

    Completed Wineador Project

Bleh. So, the shelves and drawers was a total failure. I couldn't get the smell of the red oak out. The wood wouldn't hold humidity, and the wood began to warp as I tried seasoning it. So I took all of those out, and just went with standard cigar boxes stacked together. Each box has its own...

    Completed Wineador Project

Well, a single drawer holds about 40 large ring cigars (50-55 ring size). So overall, the drawers will hold about 150 - 175 cigars, plus room on the bottom for oversized cigars. My guess is, 200 cigars total?

    Completed Wineador Project

All- With the summer months coming, I knew that my regular desktop humidor wasn't going to cut it anymore. I couldn't reliably keep the temperature below 70F, and I can't risk losing my precious cigar collection to beetles. So I went out and got a used wine cellar from Craigslist for about...

Half smoked cigar put back in Humi

Ok, now that he's dodged a bullet (albeit, an annoying bullet)... For the future... what about using a guillotine cutter, to cut off about an inch of the lit end? Was it the ash itself that caused the odor? Or would there still be enough impurities in the unburnt tobacco that could still cause...

    Cigars for a Group

I was in the same situation as you back in October 2008, for a weekend get-away at a beach house before winter came. I ended up going with some Romeo Y Julieta Clemenceau en Tubos (6x50 size). Costs around $5 for a nicely sized stick. Smooth mild-medium bodied cigar (good for beginners), with...
