Modine's performance was spot on... for an 1980's villian. That's sort of the hallmark of movies of the Era, bad guys are just bad and there is no real need to dive into their character.

Highly recommend it. Its a throw back to 80s', think Goonies meets X-Files with a dash of Silent Hill. It has funwith some of the 80s clichés, from the hot sister to completely clueless parents. It's eight episodes and very well done.

I'm an avid reader of the ASoIaF series and really enjoy the small details in the book. The show will never live up to that, at least for me. However you are correct in that this episode was very entertaining

On a purely visual and visceral level this stands as one of the best episodes. The battle scene was amazing and the amount of time and effort was something special. On an intellectual level, WTF? So much is wrong. I'll skip the Deus ex Danny being in full control of dragons and keep it to...

Hopefully the coming episode lives up to the hype. Overall I've been really disappointed with this season and hope they can rally. Historically the 2nd to last episode has been the highlight of the season and some of the released Hi-Res images are amazing.

The whole scenario is pretty far fetched and is either a plot device or bad writing. At the end of last episode we have Arya laying down to sleep with Needle. This episode we have her skipping around smiling, apparently forgetting that a coven of assassins are out to get her.

Average episode to me. Lots of plots in motion but not going anywhere and we've been Imp'less far to long. I'll admit that I laughed a good bit at Theon's reaction to "a couple of bad years"

Looks like it might be an Opus Fuente Fuente (probably my favorite Opus Stick) or a Perfection #4. The Padron Annis (especially the `64s) have always been a fair amount milder than the smack of an Opus.

Not sure which sample chapter you're referring to. As far as Jon Connington, the Golden Company and Aegon I wouldn't expect to see them as they are in the books. That story arc has been changed pretty drastically.

Really mixed emotions about this episode. It's hard to deny that the Hodor arc tugs at one's heart strings, my issue is how we got to this point. You think Bloodraven could have been a little more forthcoming with WTF was going on? Or how about the Children of the Forest? Were the flash backs...
