    Tatuaje Black

One of my local B&M's has them for $15 each. They are ussually pricey. Is this anywhere near MSRP? I picked up one anyway and will probably age it at least a few years.

    Escudo is gone, too...

Damn! I haven't tried Escudo yet and it was at the top of my list. Do I buy some and then lament that it's no longer available or just skip it and be none the wiser of what I'm missing out on?

    Cigar and Beer Paring...

Oh for God's sake! Utter blasphemy! Imperial stouts and strong Maduros go well together. Lighter, medium-mild cigars usually match well with wine(Cabernet, zinfandel, Syrah) in my opinion. I recently had a Tatuaje Reserva A Uno with a Napa Cabernet and thought if was a good pairing. And as...

What's your latest Pipe and tobacco purchase?

I just bought a Savinelli Bing's favorite "Soiree" from Frenchy's. He's having a Memorial Day weekend sale, 10% off. He is using 5% of the proceeds to send some pipes and tabacco to the troops which is nice. I also bought a gob of pipe cleaners to bring my total up enough for the free...

The Evil Dr. Moki’s Blind THANK YOU Test

No Moki actually it was an original release opus X. ...Just kidding. I just wanted to see how it felt to be on the other end of one of these exchanges. Can't wait to find out what it is though!

    It's Boswell Day!

There was just one pipe by Dan when I posted but there ended up being three, all sold now of course. I hope he will be contributing to the updates from here on out, JM could use the help. And I would love to have one, his style seems very similar to his father's.

    It's Boswell Day!

If contacting Boswell to make you your own pipe doesn't work out you may be interested in one of these pipes. link- http://www.pufferspipes.com/html/boswell.html I've dealt with Puffer before and I was very satisfied.

    It's Boswell Day!

Yeah, the first wave were sold before the next even got posted. It's getting harder and harder, glad I already have a couple.

    It's Boswell Day!

That's a right nice bulldog (pipe 1). I also like Dan's pipe. That grizzly is out of hand! Still not sure what I make of those pipes. I think I'll pass on these, by budget is getting stretched thin. Looking forward to the 28th though.

    I just did an experiment

Very interesting! Did Jorge give his opinion on the effectiveness of using a regular home freezer for killing tobacco beetles. I'm still a bit leery about the process.

Quick thoughts on the NUB connecticut 460

No, I feel completely fine and secure smoking Lancero's in public. They are a totally normal looking cigar, to me, and have been around for a long time. In fact, panatellas used to be the most popular cigar size. I think it's perfectly fine if someone feels this cigar is not ridiculous...

Quick thoughts on the NUB connecticut 460

The NUB's are about the most ridiculous looking cigars imaginable. I would feel like a total ass smoking one in public. And they would have to taste unbelievably good for me to hide somewhere and smoke it alone unseen, and apparently they fall short of that. So I think I'll probably pass on them.

FOUNDER's FEST 1st Annual Beer and Music Festival

Thanks for posting that, I'm going to try to make it. I wonder if they will be selling any botlled beer to take home with you such as Kentucky Breakfast Stout. I've yet to find that one in any local shops around here.

    Cutty pipes

I really like the "cutty" shape but they don't seem to be all that common in briar form. Link- http://www.aspipes.org/shapes/cutty.html I love Dunhill's take on it as it is very close to the traditional clay version. However, I'm not ready to spend the money on a Dunhill right now. So does...

    Tom's Private Reserve

O ebay, will you ever stop the madness. I would love to try some aged tobacco or one of the discontinued tins but I'm consistently out bid by at least twice my highest bid. Isn't pipe smoking supposed to be dead? Where do these people come from?

    New Pipe smoker

Well I see you have pretty much decided to give up on the idea of buying a churchwarden and that's fine but I just wanted to add that they are my favorite style of pipe. I really, really love mine. They do smoke cooler as Doc said and I love the old timey feel of them. They were originally...

    Holt's announces Padilla's demise?

It is about more than just making the best cigars for us the consumer, period. That is a very crucial part, in fact the most crucial. However, I would not buy the best cigars in the world for any price if I knew I was supporting unsavory people. I find that attitude a little insulting. Not...

The Wrapper-Flavor Conundrum: A New Twist

If the wrapper only accounted for 5% of the taste you would think you would occasionally run across Maduro and Connecticut shade cigars that taste similar. If your experience is like mine it's never even remotely close. They are pretty much polar opposites in flavor, coincidence? Or perhaps...

    Bad Cigars Anonymous

I think it's wonderful that he enjoys his Grenadiers so much. Leave him alone and let him enjoy himself, but offer him what you consider to be a good mild/medium cigar and see if he likes it. If you give him an Opus X or something like that it's likely to shock his pallate and he probably...
