    Heartfelt Beads Question?

When I ordered it was about a week as I recall (I'm in NJ). It's been a while, but the last time I ordered from them, I believe there was a USPS tracking number on the receipt I got with the order confirmation. If not, I'd shoot them a quick email, they're pretty good with customer service.

Going to give homebrewing a try

x2 on the Better Bottles, especially the ported ones. Makes transferring/bottling a snap.

    What are you brewing?

Cracked open a few of the Irish stouts that have been resting nicely in the fridge. Best one I've done so far, and the first that didn't have that "twang" you often get with home brews. Not as good as Guinness, but these cases sure won't last long.

Congrats on both milestones Isy, been a pleasure doing business with you the past couple of years. My guess is December 14th, 2PM. Thanks!

    Johnny-O Aging

I've found that Johnny-O's are fantastic right out the USPS box and for a few weeks afterward. Past that, let them sit for a year, they'll go into a sick period and won't taste very good while curing. Timing depends on the size/wrapper you get - but a full year is the minimum I'd recommend for...

3 New beers from Sam Adams

Here's my take on each of the new brews: Samuel Adams American Kriek This was the first one I tried over the weekend, and while I typically don't care for Sam Adam's fruitier concoctions (i.e. cherry wheat), this one was nice. The beer was sparkling clear with a bright red/purplish hue. The...

3 New beers from Sam Adams

A buddy of mine picked up a bottle of each of these for me while visiting family up in Boston. He said the Stony Brook Red was excellent, the others were just OK. Mine are currently sitting in the fridge, hopefully I can get to them sometime over the weekend. I'll report back once I try them.

    Second brew.

I fill a spray bottle with some sanitizer on brew day. Works for boil overs as well as sanitizing something in a pinch, including your hands. That's a really nice setup Alan, I have to look into that thread you linked a while back again when I get some free time.

    Johnny-O! Salomones MAY08 (2nd Review)

Nice review Greg. We had a rare mild night in Jersey last week, so I broke open a bundle of these I picked up about a year ago as a treat for our weekly poker night. They've mellowed very nicely, no more "green" flavors. I didn't quite get the strength you got, but the flavors were all right...

    Tanzanian Peaberry

Geee, I wonder who that could have been... :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:  If you're a coffee fan, you need to try these beans, they're fantastic and just as described. Rich, full and robust with a very clean flavor and aftertaste. Pairs nicely with a good cigar as well.

    My First Humidor

Congrats, now start filling 'er up. Another +1 for cheaphumidors.com. However, at this point you already have a nice small desktop, so once you need something bigger next month, go with a cooler. Cheap and effective for storing larger quantities.

Arturo Fuente Between The Lines 2006

Nice review Greg. I had one of these the other day, it's an interesting smoke, you get a neat flavor balance from the two wrappers.

IMHO, John's smokes are great either very fresh or with a year or more of age on them. So buy a bundle, smoke a few when you get them, then store the rest in the back of your cooler until next year. You'll thank me next Christmas.
