*** ALERT *** Padron 80th Boxes Leaking Sap

In pulling out my empty Padron 80th box for Brian, I looked inside and was horrified to see significant amounts of sap oozing from the interior wood. All the wooden pieces facing the interior showed evidence of sap ooze. In the worst cases, enough sap oozed out to form sticky blobs. If you...

    Potential Influx of New Members

I disagree. If what you think might happen actually does come to pass, I don't think a blanket "sunshine and rainbows" program will be the best or most effective way to welcome these folks into the community. For them or for us. Think about it. These members may be disaffected, angry, they may...

Well heck, the announcement wasn't obvious then because I missed it at both sites. Got linkie? Those communities are so different. Silca Kitty Litter Question

If the beads look like big grains of hazy salt, then they are 100% silica. Clay type litter will look like gravel. Wilkey

    Silca Kitty Litter Question

I don't know for sure that the blue crystals are always ones that contain hex chrome or any other functional additive. I'm guessing, without really investigating it, that in some cases, the blue is simply cosmetic. Blue = impression of clean (i.e., toilet bowl cleaner). Wilkey

    Silca Kitty Litter Question

Well, boveda packs are basically salt solutions so they would pick up odors over time as well. How much they do so as compared to silica, I don't really know. Wilkey

    Silca Kitty Litter Question

Absolutely I am. I keep small containers in most of my coolers. From a chemistry perspective, anything that is mobile and volatile (e.g., the aroma compounds you detect when you smell a cigar) will be absorbed to a greater or lesser degree in the things in its environment. This is true for...
