I'd be interested....but this would be fairly difficult I would think. I don't know anything about buying empty sample bottles and matching price/ rarity might be difficult.
however it may or may not play out....I'm in.
My understanding is that Everclear is being banned in a lot of areas due to the ridiculous proof level...making it a little more sought after. Also, to make up for the loss of "market saturation" one can assume that prices would increase.
Personally, If I'm not having a flaming Dr...
I had some new acquisitions this week:
1. Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project #190
2. Wild Turkey Forgiven
3. Blanton's Original
If you crack that bottle of Jameson 18 let me know what you think...might be awhile before I open mine.
This week while I was out of town for work I had quite a few glasses of different whiskeys...
Barterhouse 20 (loved it...wish I could find a bottle)
Colonel EH Taylor Single Barrel
Jim Beam Signature Craft Red Wheat (Not a fan)
Garrison Brothers Texas Bourbon
WH Harrison Governor's Reserve...
If you look closely there is also a bottle of Chivas 18 and MacAllen 12. I'm not one much for scotch but bought the double wood because I heard it helps to break down the barriers. I'm just not a fan of the smokey and peaty flavors..still working on the sherry cask stuff.
I've had a lot of fun recently getting into Whiskey as a new hobby and slowing down on the craft beer purchasing. While whiskey is a much more expensive hobby, I do believe it is a little bit healthier for you long term since I tend to drink beer in excess and thoroughly enjoy 2-3 small pours of...
They have them for $28 a piece here in corpus where I'm working for the week. I picked up a bottle Yesterday myself since It's the first place I've see it. They are pretty small so I was considering going back for another tomorrow...haven't decided yet. I'd be interested to hear what others...
I almost thought you would pick Ohio state to block the upset but rationalized that everyone really thought Oregon was the safe play and that I had to take my chances. No way I could predict a double reverse tell (or whatever they call it in the poker world). I appreciate the sportsmanship! ...
I was in crossfit for a few months last year...until they tried to get me to do some of the stupidest "mod" hang cleans...be careful of the coaches...some really have no idea what they are doing
It certainly seems I have been on a luck streak...both FFL's, College Bowl, and the colts pulled one out over the broncos. I usually jump in the SB squares for a few squares every year...never hit a thing there though...
Trey, I think you've been absent awhile...so maybe you don't remember that we don't delete things here. I for one was not bothered...and it seems others weren't all that bothered either.
Haven't seen you in probably 5-6 years...you still ever around the DFW area?
At first I was disgusted....then I thought it was intriguing, then I thought it was hilarious when you see what it's really about. Really shows you perspective...especially when it's one of the greatest movies of all time.
I figured Brian would pick Oregon so for strategy sake I went with The Buckeyes even though I feel Oregon is going to take it. Oregon already on the board when I posted this so let's see how it plays out...
Nice Job....The last thing I expected was a double bagger! I have yet to try that particular whiskey...so you did a great job!
I'll post a photo soon...hitting the road for work travel.
Who wants some? (as a caveat...if this sits for awhile...shoot me a pm too)
I enjoyed the Hibiki...very, very smooth. So smooth in fact that it was pretty one dimensional, although, I did still enjoy it. I can't compare to Nikka because this is my first experience with Japanese whiskey.
