Drew Estate Undercrown and NC cigars (in general)

I wonder about that as well, but I've also always hoped some producers would blend Nicaraguan and Domincan tobacco.  I should look into that more, but as it stands I don't know of any.  You would think some interesting cigars could come of that.  Just look at the Fuente cigars with Cameroon...

That's a fantastic point.  Especially if you consider some of the older NC producers with cigar blends that have either been aged or develop well with age.  You know, in this conversation, I think we've neglected at least one significant producer who has some cigars that do age very well: Avo...

I don't think there's any argument there.  The only problem I've had with Tats are on occasion with the Cazzies.  Of all the Padrons I've smoked, I can recall one that I had to toss.  One of hundreds.  With CCs, the list is long.

An aged 2000 would be better for the FOH guys.  A 1926 might knock them out of their chairs.

    Any new music suggestions?

Haha.  Agreed.  I haven't heard her 'album', but I do not see what the big deal is with that Royals song.  If that is song of the year, we have hit a low.  I've been listening to the Downward Spiral a bit lately.  That album will be 20 years old in a month.  Do any of you remember the crazy...

What beer did you drink today? 2014

We tried a bottle of Stone's Coconut IPA recently.  I remembered JFields saying it was lackluster.  It was.  Stone, as a whole, I continue to find lackluster.  I think I'm done with them.  They are by no means bad, but we have plenty of breweries here to choose from that are at least as good. ...

Yeah, make sure they would actually review them.  I've been on there for quite a while, but strictly for info.  I think I posted an intro and then stuck to lurking.  The reviews are what I really like.  I was crushed when Smitty took leave.  Haha.

True brutha, true.  That is one thing with CCs though, many of them aren't all that expensive.  Cohibas and Trinis really, the rest are reasonable (by MN standards).

Right.  There are the aged Fuentes that provide the wow-experience.  Occasionally, I'll hear that of a Padron.  The 80th, the 44th, or the Millenium.  All cigars that you pay a large premium for, and they are all aged.  Perhaps it's just the market.  Other manufacturers are making cigars that...

A little more background on why this is of interest to me.  A couple months ago, I smoked a well aged Opus Love Story.  That cigar was a work of wonder.  Cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, cedar.  The flavors changed with every few draws.  I've had cigars like this before and almost all of them...

I don't think it's fair to say they are biased, just because they usually only smoke Cubans.  You also have to consider they have legal access to the Cuban market, and many of the cigars they can select from are Cuban.     It will always boil down to 'Smoke what you like...', but that doesn't...

    Cigars from non-traditional areas

I've had Jamaican cigars.  They weren't offensive, but so mild you could smoke them like a cigarette.

Watch the guys from Friends of Habano review the Drew Estate Undercrown.  If you don't know these guys, they do fantastic reviews.  This is an interesting take on a NC cigar from guys who almost exclusively smoke Cubans, and parts of it are hilarious.  It got me thinking of so many NC cigars I...

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic?

Right.  Still the same.  Also accounted for all the jaw-dropping blondes we saw catwalking about.  Sweet Jesus, I thought we had amazing blondes in Minnesota...

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic?

Yeah man, the place where they had a photo of Michael Jordan on the wall.  The chicks working there told me I was better looking than MJ.  I'll take that to the grave with me.  :)  Prices at that shop were very reasonable and the cigar selection was divine.  I wouldn't go back to Cabo though.  I...

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic?

No burns.  In fact, I had to back off the SPF 50 just so I could come back with some color.  Oh, and another thing, lots of Europeans in Punta Cana.  I felt like a hard-ass walking around all these dudes who couldn't manage a single push-up with a .45 to their heads.  LOL.  Although, they seem...

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic?

Absolutely agree.  Ordinarily, I would have brought plenty of my own.  Outside of the tourist jungle, I was able to find good NCs in the Virgin Islands, and great CCs in Cabos.  Jamaica, forget it.  The DR, read above.  Whereever you go, have your own stash regardless.

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic?

The wife and I just got back from Punta Cana.  Fantastic beaches and a great time all in all.  I did not, however, follow the advice of many.  I only brought 4 cigars.  I don't have a big humidor anymore, hardly have one at all actually, and I simply didn't get around to stocking up.  So, I...
