USPS Rant

Yep. I ship out hundreds of items each week, and I can tell you first hand the USPS has been crap for several years, however the past few months they've really turned to shit. Now they're scanning items as delivered when they're not. How do I know? They show up a few days later after being scanned as delivered. Very shady.

My mail carrier just retired - he was great - old school like he would put things behind my side yard gate if he knew I wasn't home and leave a note for me in my mailbox.

He told me a few years ago that things were getting bad because they were having a hell of a time finding people to fill positions... Young people would start working and leave after a month when they realized that they had to do actual hard work.

Unfortunately, I see these attitudes pop up with kids at school too...

Package arrived in St. Louis at 4:27pm on March 12. This is 28 miles from my house in St. Peters. It arrived in St. Peters (5.3 miles) on the 14th at 2:52am, then Arnold (32.1 miles), back to St. Louis (28 miles) where it has been for 24 hours. So it has spent 5 days touring the St. Louis region. Unfortunately, this is all basically due to one idiot in St. Peters.
I'm going to start sending Flat Stanley's with my packages so they can see the world.
I really like the last two here, it departed the Regional Facility at 11:51am and arrived back there at 1:50pm. I'm guessing it just went out for lunch.

Of the USPS shipping problems I've had, it seems like a disproportionate number of them occur in St. Louis.

Well, we aren't the worst. What do you think it is like for me? Every piece of mail I get goes through this shit show.

I see packages bounce back and forth between sorting facilities rather often. Literally, back and forth several times before moving on again. I ordered an item from a company 5 miles from me (ebay), and it traveled to San Diego (120 miles away), then back up to another sorting facility 30 miles from me, then finally locally, then to me. Something isn't right.

A postcard from Orlando - postmarked 31 January. This arrived in my mailbox today, 14 March.

I've been waiting three weeks for small piece parts - sent USPS.
I'm paying my CC online now, because USPS cannot seem to get 1st class letter mail to them in under three weeks.

Even bills are late.
