I'm truly a neophyte when it comes to cigars, as I just started smoking them about 2 1/2 years ago, mostly stuff I recieved from my in-laws. I'm trying to currently work on my learning curve as I work my way through the CAO line(and now from my newbie trade with cigardawg) to figure out if I like a lighter v. stronger smoke (medium to strong, I'm learning); maduro v. natural (maduro), etc. I figure just working my way up and down a moderately priced line was my best bet. So far, my favorite of that line has been the CAO Maduro; but overall, my best smoking experiences have been a H.Upmann Sir Winston and a Hemmingway Best Seller.

By the way, if you're reading this and you're a newbie, I could not recommend the newbie trade highly enough.

Outside of cigars, if you're a sport, it's pretty much a safe assumption that I like to either play you or watch you (sometimes both); also I love a good book (although occasionally a good video game can win out).

Also, there's not much better than a good scotch, which is what orginially brought me here. My standard is Balvenie 12 year Double Wood; although I'm working my way through the Glenmorangie wood finishes right now. I also dabble in the occasional bourbon (Rowan's Creek is the latest).

I'm pretty much just here to lurk and learn from others right now.
