The Boring Stuff

My name is Justin and I'm from Alaska--the greatest place to be from, ever. My day job is pre-school teacher, but my career aspiration is to be an opera singer. This pursuit consumes most of my non-work hours, with lessons, coachings, auditions, rehearsals, performances, fittings, etc. I also do improv comedy. In the summer I teach voice and Improv at a performing arts academy. I love Alaska and my favorite way to experience is driving all around it in my 1989 Suzuki Sidekick (2-door, canvas-top). My goal is to drive all Alaska's Highways by the summer of 2010. You can find me on Facebook or Myspace if you care to.
Cigars and Me
I never had any interest in smoking, but when a close friend turned 19 (legal tobacco age in AK) we decided to try some cigars. I took to it. I've only been smoking about 8 months, I've dabbled in pipes as well (no cigarettes, no weed). I like introducing my friends to new cigars and being introduced to new cigars by my cigar guy (that would be Ryan at Alaska Tobacco Cache). So far, my taste seems to lean toward medium- or medium-full bodied cigars. I like lots of flavor but I don't care so much for the nicotine buzz. My other favorite traits in a cigar: it's huge (I like the feel of a big fat stogie) and it gives lots of smoke (I like big billowing clouds of white smoke to blow out). That said, I can smoke most anything and enjoy it. So far my favorite cigars have been the Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra (expresso size) and La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7 (natural wrapper). I'm always open to suggestions, but know that it's hard for me to find many brands here in AK (recommendations for places to order online are welcome).
