Alright so what im gonna ask might make some of you mad but thats ok.

So I have recently become interested in Cigars. I wanna try the Acid Cigar Sample Pack but I dont have that kind of money at the moment plus I wanna see if I even like cigars before I spend lots of money. Ive read great reviews on Black and Mild Wine Wood Tips and Ive decided to smoke one or two of those a week for a month.

My question is will I get a nicotine addiction if I puff, not inhale, a Black and Mild once or twice a week?

Will this happen also if I smoke a Acid once or twice a week?

Also, Whats the "cancer paper" in a black and mild? Whats it made of? Does it make the cigar more unhealthy?

Thank You So Much!

Will this happen also if I smoke a Acid once or twice a week? - See answer above.

Also, Whats the "cancer paper" in a black and mild? Whats it made of? Does it make the cigar more unhealthy? - Linky - Other than this...I have no idea.

Thank You So Much!

Why not go to the intro forum and post a little something about yourself and if not done so yet, fill out your profile.

Welcome to CP!

Hi Youtuber. Welcome to CP. I'd recommend heading over to the into forum and telling us a little about yourself.

As for your thoughts, I'd save that money that I was thinking of spending on black n milds and buy one decent cigar. Many good cigars can be had for under $5. In my opinion, it is better to smoke one good cigar a month than 20 rancid ones, but to each their own.

ETA: Damn Greg, you beat me to it!

Why do you recommend to not even puff on a black and mild? Is it personal opinion or a good fact? :D

It's uh because black and milds will not do your cigar experience justice. A real cigar will taste much better than a black and mild imo. If you want to give the cigar experience a chance I recommend you do it with a real cigar. I recommend Ashton VSG's or Padron's to start. You will not get a nicotine addiction if you puff. I would skip the acids and the black and milds altogether.

Both

Personal Opinion - Why have a Black and Mild when you can have a real cigar for the same price.

Good Fact - Cigars are a natural product, older then the United States. On the other hand a Black and Mild is poison, dipped into flavors that make it taste like a flavored cigar instead of making them out to be the cancer stick they really are. It's a Cigarette with a plastic tip, IMO you might as well buy a pack of cigarettes, you get more for your dollar. They may not taste like artificial flavorings, but you can smoke 20 of them for $5.

Just a Noobs take on this! :whistling:

But if I dont inhale it into my lungs, then how is it like a cigarette?

Good fact. There was a case study not too long ago:
Cancer linked to Black and Mild cigars

Link is fake. It has nothing to do with cancer. Just those annoying horn things :D

Its a personal opinion as to what you will like. I picked up smoking cigars again just a few months ago after having quit for a good 10 years. So I am fairly new to the whole experience myself once again. Acquiring a taste for a cigar is the same as acquiring a taste for coffee or wine. You will want to start mild and light to learn to get a feel for what should be there.

A lot of people may not agree with me but I can recommend a couple cigars that are mild and are fairly good first steps into a cigar experience.

Cuesta Rey "Caravelle's". Machine made so they are cheap, like 85 cents a piece. You can get a box of 25 in the $18 range. I really like them as an everyday cigar. It has what a cigar should have w/o any fancy flavoring etc. Its very mild and smooth, its a great introduction into cigars in my opinion.

Maybe next step up to a JM's Domincan. They are hand made and on the cheaper side, $2.50-3.00 a cigar. They are also really mild and have a lot of different sizes with a few different wrappers so you can easily try them out to see what you might like.

Just my opinions.

You don't have to go machine-made to get reasonably priced (cheap) cigars. Check out Devil's Weed, Brocatus, and John Bull. They're all handmade, mild to medium cigars that can be had for a buck or two a stick.

First things first: Black N Milds are not cigars. Period.

They are pipe tobacco stuffed into some paper with a plastic tip.

A cigar is all natural tobacco rolled together to form a well blended masterpiece....

Alright. I think everyones responses are great! Im going to go get a real cigar soon but I have one more question to end this topic. Are Black and Milds worse for you then a nice cigar every one is talking about? Like if I puff a Black and Mild, will it really effect my health as long as I continue to exercise and brush my teeth? This goes for nice handmade cigars also.

Absolutely, smoking will effect your health. Moderation will reduce the risks.

It is also better to not drink alcohol, wear full body condoms at the first sign of sexual interlude, maintain the speed limit at all times, and wear closed toe shoes.

Does this thread remind anyone else of the infamous Bill Clinton thread ? :whistling:

What do you mean by Moderation?

Youtuber, I'm going to make a suggestion here. I understand your enthusiasm, but why don't you search out some of the answers you're looking for by using the search function that this forum has. It is really useful.

To answer your latest question: Moderation means different things to different people. To someone who regularly smokes 5 cigars a day, moderation may mean cutting back to 2 or 3. To others it may mean one or two a week.

You run the risk of mouth and throat cancer from smoking cigars. The health risks are well documented and available to anyone who seeks them out. If you choose to smoke cigars, you feel that the enjoyment you gain outweighs the risk. Good luck.

Its obviously healthier to not smoke at all. It's also healthier to never eat a burger again. You have to weigh the risks and see what you're willing to accept. For myself, living in a metropolis, I refuse to believe the one or two cigars I may have a week are any more damaging than all the smog and pollution from the city, but your mileage may vary. But yes, there are health risks, mild as they may be. If you are overly concerned about them than perhaps cigars (or any type of smoking and/or tobacco products) are not for you. Sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and enjoy life. Just my opinion.

As for which cigar, let me put it this way. If you really want to experience a good steak, do you go to Denny's or do you go to a great steakhouse? Black n Milds are Denny's. For a good steak (so to speak), I'd suggest and Arturo Fuente 8-5-8. Great mild/medium cigar that isn't too expensive and should be fairly easy for you to find.
