Wilkey/Ginseng has been permantately banned from CP

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt - sometimes... Wilkey has had some sort of issue with CigarPass for the past 6 months. He emailed me 3 times in the past 4 months or so asking me to delete his account, as he will no longer participate at CP. I don't just remove/delete content, therefore I told Wilkey if doesn't like CP, then he can move on, however his account will remain active if he ever chooses to come back. Three days later he emails me saying he's sorry and that he's staying. This happened a total of THREE times. Recently he posted publicly that he's leaving, then he reneged and decided to stay.

Today was the final straw - Wilkey has decided to come back to CP, and delete all of his "informative" topics/reviews/etc. Apparently he feels this is copyrighted information, and he can do as he pleases.

Wilkey - You are a true disappointment to this community. It's amazing how you think you can conduct less than equal trades with people, and not own up to your end of the deal. Your account has been locked, and you are no longer welcome here. Bare in mind, I retain nightly backups, and when I have time, I will replace all of the data you destroyed. Your copyrighted disclaimer is invalid, as you agreed to our terms upon joining CP. You voluntarily posted those topics, therefore I am free to restore a backup and put the data back in place.

It's really a shame its come to this. I did everything within my power to help retain your membership, however I cannot cover up the facts.

*Applause* Thanks Rod, because as much as I hate to say it, Wilkey did provide us with good information. At least about cigars. You on the other hand Rod, continue to provide strength and someone to look up to, a class act. Which in return, makes me want to come back here each and everyday.

Its a shame that someone thinks they can outsmart, someone like Rod. I take, learning about how to be a better person and to how to approach different aspects of life over wilkley information on cigars anyday!

I have learned so much from him. I have only been around for a little under a year, but still, I was not expecting this...


Rod.. This is your ship and we are all just humble passengers. You do a phenomenal job here and it is an honor to be here, for someone to think otherwise does not belong and therefore, I agree with your decision.
 
What a baby - well played, Todd. I am laughing at how pissed he will be when he finds out he can't take all of that precious information away from us. Also, can we coin a new term? WWWD, what would Wilkey do. Seriously, think about it. :laugh:
 
I am rather new here, so didn't want to comment to much on this issue, but someone made the comment on his last thread about him needing professional help.

I hope he gets it.

Edit to add: I enjoyed Wilkeys posting and was able to benefit from a couple of his sales. This is very disappointing, but there are so many other S/BOTL here that I can learn from and TRUST.

Wow, in reading this I was waiting for that turn of events where it turned into something funny or positive. I do completely support your decision Rod but does anyone know what could have brought Wilkey to do such things? Overwhelming PM's and emails on fake/real cigars? Trades gone bad? Beef with other members? I don't recall reading anything that would lead me to assume this. I do hope this ends with a happy ending though.
 
I enjoyed his posts and am surprised to see what happened. I hope that this will not put any hardship on the community.
 
Rod, dot your I's and cross your T's then restore the info. Does he really think this won't follow him around the cigar world?
 
OH NO! He didn't delete all of his 12,000 word blacklight, magnifying glass over the fake cuban label posts, did he? Piss off Wilkey. Brian was right about you all along. Ego, ego and more ego.

Who carries around a magnifying glass anyway? Oh yeah... right.
 
Rod - one of the forums I mod on has the following lines in it's forum rules. Every one that registers has to check a "yes" box stating that they agree to all the rules, which include:
XXXXX reserves the right to edit, reprint, distribute, or delete any posting for any reason and without prior notification or explanation to the author.

All messages posted become the property of XXXXX.

...in other words, once it's posted, it's yours. Might consider adding something along those lines to the forum rules.

It's a shame to lose all that valuable information, but all things considered, maybe it's actually for the best...... :angry:

I can't tell you how disappointed I am at this turn of events. Really depressing.
