It would take a real big event for me to even consider cracking those open, there definatley had to be some value to those. I probably won't be seeing that happen again anytime soon.

It was really nice of this brother from another site to open this AND share the images. Can't wait for the review!

Hi Vortex! I don't know you and how you got my pictures or permission to use them; but I see you did it anyway!?! I am typically a very nice brother, but you have stepped beyond the line. Very poor form indeed! If I were a regular member here and contributed more here; I would likely shun you for this indiscretion toward this BOTL and the other members here for your perpetrated fraud. However; I am not. They will have to respond according to their own accord.

To the other members of CP: I gladly will share my images with you. I will try to return and post the story behind them and then a review of the 1st one smoked when that happens. Please forgive my unhappiness expressed above. I hope you understand the frustration at the things some will do to make themselves look good.

I don't understand your anger at the pictures being linked here. You posted the pictures on a public host, then posted the link on a public board. I've seen it done many times on many boards without friction. They are yours, however, so I suppose it would be appropriate for Vortex to offer apology.

Hollywood -

What's the big deal? Vortex is not claiming the pictures to be his own. He said their another brothers. I don't understand you're displeasure with Vortex. It makes no sense. If he was claiming ownership of the pictures, I would see your point. But he clearly stated that it's from a brother at another site.

no displeasure with them being shared with the board. only unhappy with him claiming to have my permission to do so; and having never bother to ask me.

I don't see a claim of having your permission. He stated that you had the courage to open the can and share the photos on another board. I did not interpet that as a personal permission from you, merely a statement that you opened the can and then posted the photos online.

Maybe I'm missing something, but where did he claim to have your permission? Photobucket is a public website. It's just like youtube. Anything uploaded there is public. Vortex simply linked to YOUR image gallery. That's all. I'm still unclear as to how or why he should have asked for your permission to do? If he copied the pictures, and put them on his own site, then I would understand your displeasure. I still don't get it...

You post images on a public site it goes without saying they are meant to be looked at. Also, he never said he had your permission, he said you were sharing them which again goes back to posting on a public site. If you didn't want to share you'd have your own space to post things.

Here is a link to the topic on CS.

Several posts into the thread, Hollywood posted this:

here's a slideshow of the pics. I think I have it working now. If it does work; maybe the MODs might want to take down some of the big pics!? You're call.

No secret about how the link was found. I am confused as to why you are upset with the link being posted on this forum? Great photos and a great find.

1) I need an account on CS to access the info.
2) I cannot openly get to the slide show via photobucket.

Interesting stuff! (the cigars)

Hmmm, really not sure what the issue is here. Vortex stated clearly that this was posted on another cigar site, paid compliment to the original poster for doing so and simply posted a link to a public site where the clip was hosted. No harm no foul, except for calling him out for doing no wrong.

However that being said, it was a very cool video, not sure I'd have had the stones to open that can. But it was neat to see 64 year old cigars brought to life for the first time.

As I do try to live the code of a gentleman, I would like to offer my sincere apology for any discomfort I caused to Mr hollywood. But, sir, please be advised that no permission is normally needed to access a public site. I thought you would be proud to have so many people share in your discovery and subsequent unveiling for which we are all grateful. Why else would you publish on a public site like photobucket.

If you don't wish to share the pictures, then don't. You could even ask viewers not to share the pictures and I'm certain that I, as well as most other people, would oblige. But to share them and then cry foul afterwards is silly. So don't be put out and come visit us more often. I'm sure if you gave it a chance you'd see that this is a very friendly site with many great members who would love to get to know you.

If you show me yours, I'll show you mine. ;)

Don't see what the fuss is all about. You agreed to allow publicly posted images to be publicly used.

...and the other members here for your perpetrated fraud.

Don't see any fraud, but the above seems a little libelous to me.

Further seems to me that you owe Vortex an apology.

you'd have an argument if:
1.) you posted the slide show on your own personal site and not a free public site
2.) if you simply put ©,your name, and date on the pics you would be protected
3.) no profits were made with the pics
aside from that, there is no isssue here.
