Just curious how others decide what to smoke when its their time. I imagine most of us have a pretty large selection to choose from, and even with my relatively small one I often have trouble deciding.
I grab a pipe to avoid the trama![]()
Lay out an assortment and post a pic and ask @bfreebern. He's always ready to help.
That's a funny looking thumbs up.
I typically have an idea in mind, what I want to smoke. If not, then I just grab whatever looks/sounds good and go from there.
Damn! At least I waited until I was five to start smoking!I have smoked a LOT in my life time, and I mean a LOT.
I am 60 years of age & I have basically 60 years of lung damage from smoking; I won't go into all the details.
When I was a teenager one of my (older) smoking buddies smoked a pipe, and he had several; also a lot of tobacco blends to boot.
When I was at Henry's one day I said, "Henry, load me up your favorite tobacco in your favorite pipe, and lemme try it out."
So, Henry did just that; he fired it up, took a couple of good puffs, it smelled fantastic, and he handed me the pipe.
I tried a few puffs, and I just couldn't figure out why something that smelled so GOOD could taste so bad.
Never tried a pipe after that; I just kept smoking my Malrboro reds & my Columbian.![]()

You just needed to find the right blend. I smoked Marlboro Red hard pack for a good 10 years before I got the serious sickness for cigars in the late 90's. I quit cigs cold turkey and will never look back. I wish that I had started smoking pipes as well when I got the cigar bug.

when I started smoking cigarettes as a 14 year old I basically did it because it was (then) considered the 'cool' thing to do.
During the basic time frame I smoked that 'other' stuff too.
I quit the 'other' stuff in 1998 & I quit cigarettes in 1999.
I started the cigar thing in 2007 as a curiosity, then I got serious about cigars within a few years.
Never should have started smoking at all; I nearly died from pneumonia at 21 months of age, had pneumonia at least 6 times, had asthma until I was 14, had the flu more times than I care to remember so, I was never a candidate for being a smoker.
Too late though because I'm now 60 years old, and I smoked 188 cigars in 2020.
I might as well be a steam locomotive because I smoke more than one.
My physicians still don't understand why my lungs still function & I get a yearly CAT scan for my lungs; early detection for lung cancer.
Puff puff .................
Do you inhale or retrohale?
another way is to open you cabinet and whatever falls on the floor because you are over full, smoke that..
