When are you being pressured to allow decorations for Christmas? I usually give the OK, the day after Thanksgiving........but it's been earlier and earlier. I'm already getting pressured to let the girls/wife decorate, but we're having family over for Thanksgiving.

What say you? I might give in, in hopes that I'll get something in return :rolleyes: What are the unspoken rules, at your house?
 
I always say the day after thanksgiving. I am getting a lot of push back to do it RIGHT NOW also.. Must be because we have all been cooped up in the house to long in 2020. I told her I don't care as long as the stuff makes it to the day after Christmas.. Normally she is ripping stuff down on Christmas afternoon!!!
 
My wife was already talking about putting up the tree this weekend. With the year we’ve had I’m not really against it. Actually there has been a big fight with our community and the HOA of people wanting to start putting Christmas lights up. However our HOA rules specifically say you can’t put them up before thanksgiving however I’ve already seen some going up.
 
Well my wife tends to go all out on Christmas decor, so she typically starts a week before Thanksgiving and has most if not all of it up by Thanksgiving Day, we just have a rule that the lights do not get turned on until Thanksgiving evening...
 
My household is in the same situation. We typically are right before Thanksgiving, because we are gone the week of Thanksgiving. The wife said something about wanting to get the Christmas stuff down so she "can go through it", which we all know means put it up.

I'm thinking stuff will probably start making appearances this weekend.
 
So I mentioned to my wife the others are having trouble controlling the flow of Christmas stuff out of storage and she reminded me that she doesn't say a word when I spend every Saturday night on a zoom call with you delinquents. Soo sounds like my Christmas stuff will be up by the end of the week. I mean I can't argue with her, its a valid point.

I guess I have it easy. Usually about a week before Christmas my better half will drag the Christmas stuff out, and one of us will ask "should we do a tree this year?". More often than not we don't do a tree, but this year I suspect we will both want one.
 
Well, it's just me so nobody's pressuring me to do shit, but I'll describe my Yule routine anyway:

I have one of those prelit trees in a pot, a fairly large one about 3' tall. I added lights, garlands, ornaments & a topper. It's quite festive.

It stays in the spare bedroom's closet, fully decorated, with a trash bag over it so it doesn't get all dusty. If I'm going to have holiday company, I swap the lamp in the living room out for it. If I'm not, it stays in the closet. 😂

There's Heathen stuff I do at Yule, but for holiday decorating, the tree's actually it.

This is in stark contrast to my late older sister, who had garlands & greenery out the wazoo, Alice in Wonderland stuff, those little miniature villages, and at one point, no less than FIVE Christmas trees, each with a different theme & color scheme.
