Concept of a Cigar Pass, the general idea behind a pass and how they work
You are about to embark on one of the most exciting group activities amongst cigar smokers, commonly referred to as a “Cigar Pass.” If you don’t already know, a Cigar Pass is sending a box of cigars around in a group, and each person who receives the box takes a few cigars out and places a few cigars (of equal or greater value) back in the box, and then sends the box onto the next person in the group.
Most Cigar Passes include about 10 - 15 people. Once you get enough people to join your pass, you fill up a box (or tupperware since it’s durable and holds humidity well) of cigars, and place a list in the box of all the participants who are involved in the pass. There are many different types of Cigar Passes you can start. Typically you will fill up a box with about 15-20 or so cigars, and then begin the pass.
Once you send out the box of cigars to the first person, he will remove one or more cigars, and replace those with equal or greater valued cigars. That person will then mail the box off to the next person on the list. This will continue all the way down the list, until the box is sent back to you. The purpose of a Cigar Pass is to trade and acquire different types of cigars; most of all, just have fun! Many friends will be made while passing/trading cigars.
Remember, the more people in your pass, the longer it will take to come back to you. It’s always a good idea to ensure everyone uses insurance as well as purchases a tracking number.
You will be able to acquire a list of people who want to participate in your pass by submitting a message in our message. To post a message, all you have to do is click on CIGAR FORUMS. Once you are there, you’ll notice the very first forum will be labeled “OPEN CIGAR PASSES”. You can now browse through the current passes, or start one of your own. Be sure to specify all the details in your message: such as the type of pass, type of cigars to be passed along, how many participants you are looking for, as well as any other special rules you may want to include.
