I had a close call with mine. Went digging into the back to pull something out. Stashed back there were some bags lying horizontally on top of some boxes. I pulled the bags out and noticed one felt a little damp. I did a little more digging, and realized what happened.

That bag was right up against the back wall. With the increased heat lately, there's been some water dripping down from the fan to the drain hole. Only problem is, the water instead getting caught on the bag, then dripping down to a box. A paper box. Thankfully, there was only 1 cigar in that box, since I had recently taken the others out, and it was all the way on the other side of the box from where the little bit of water had gone.

If you're not 100% sure the back wall of your Vino is clear, I suggest you take a few minutes to do some rearranging and make sure it is. Thankfully I was going into the back, because who knows how bad this could have been.

Thanks Tom. I am in the process of putting one together right now, and that problem is one I have been concerned with. So I must ask you.......do you keep beads in your Humi to help with over humidification in the summer?

Thanks

Steve

I don't know about Tom but I know I certain keep them in my Edgestar year round. In the winter I've kept the beads about 75-80% wet but I'm finding that in the summer I need to have about 50% or more of them dry to keep the humidity down. I'm also still trying to get the temperature control tuned in to be optimal (minimize RH swings) so that may be part of my problem as well.

I will be using an Avallo Humidifier, but I am thinking I should also use beads to deal with over humidification spikes.

Thanks for the heads up. I check mine just about every day; once I forgot to put the tupperware container back in which catches the condensation, and the bottom was flooded. Not fun!

It's funny, mine seems to have reverse seasonal humidity disorder. In the summer, with the fan cranking all the time to keep it cool, the humidity manages to stay in check. It's in the winter, when it's not working as hard, that I sometimes run into humidity increases. I usually just end up opening the door for a little bit, and letting the excess humiditiy out.
