MOZILLA that is ???

I have been having massive issues with spyware and hijacker programs. I read that Mozilla helps and I was about to format my hard drive to get rid of this crap.

I figured, what have I got to lose? After installing Mozilla Firefox, my spy-sweeper has not blinked once. Everything is working great.

Only problem I see so far is that I like to play at Games.yahoo.com and none of the games work in Mozilla, small price to pay, I say.

You might need to update the Java Component on your Firefox. I think if you just head on over to Java.com using Firefox and download the update it will automatically update your Firefox browser.

And yes, Firefox rocks the house. I use it also. Once you used Tabbed Browsing you just can't go back. For example

I will head to the cigarpass forum and show a list of threads. Then I would use my wheel button on my mouse and middle click every thread that I want to read. Firefoxes loads like 10 of these pages in tabbed windows within the Same Firefox window. Once I'm done reading one thread, I just go to the next thread that's already loaded up. No more clicking then clicking back on your browser then forgetting where you are.

I used mozilla for a while but got annoyed on how nothing would work
So I just keep the SP/and security updates up to date with IE..
I guess I am just so damn use to IE..
damn microsoft has me brainwashed!!

Have you tried using ADWARE SE 6.o and also SPYBOT? These are dandy tools I use to remove spyware/trojans. they can both be downloaded at www.download.com
I also keep my Norton updated nightly..

Thanks JonnyKu, I will give that a try.

alex> yes, I run Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D as well as Spy Sweeper, and it helped to rid me of them, but didn't block them. I got tired of having to run them. I am hoping Mozilla will take care of it, and it has so far.

I love Firefox. I like it how you can edit the frames and stuff, making it just like you want it. I have moved lots of stuff, and it rocks. Using the computer a lot, I've learned to try to make everything as fast to use as possible. I'm guessing most who use computers a lot do this. Firefox is a great help in that department too. Oh, and it's safer than IE too!

Not to split hairs here, but Mozilla and Firefox are two different browsers. Both are written by the same people, The Mozilla Organization. But Mozilla has a browser called Mozilla and a browser called Firefox.

Incidentally, both are much better the IE :D

At the top of my browser, it says the Page I am on followed by the words "Mozilla Firefox"

When I go to Help and About Mozilla Firefox, it says Mozilla Firefox

I figured it was OK to call it Mozilla ;)

:D

Yeah I know, and you're right. It is Mozilla Firefire (where Mozilla is the company). It only gets confusing when you refer to it soley as Mozilla, which is either a company or a browser.

But dangit, I can say Mozilla over and over and never screw it up, but Firefire, I mean foxfire er uh firefox...

See, Mozilla is easier :p

Out of curiosity, I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox and I like the look!

Very easy setup, especially how it imports all of your cookies, passwords, favoites, etc.

Cool! :D

Yeah, I was amazed at how easily it installed.

And for the most part it works great. I did have to load a plugin before it would play some of my son's stuff, and I can't play Yahoo Games at all, there is no plug in. But I like not having my SpySweeper pop up every 2 minutes warning of a new found spyware attack.

The plugins section is the best part. I've installed bugmenot (registrations for pages), IEview for those obnoxious pages that only work for MS, prefbar (only works with particular versions), allow right click, and adblock.
