I know it's been discussed in the past, however with the growth of the site it's important we mention it again. When posting on CP, please ensure that your message has substance. Posting a one or two word message usually adds little to nothing to the topic. If it's done once in a while, not a problem. However, if the majority of your posts are smiley faces or consist of less than 3 words, please try and add more substance to your posts. Also, bumping old threads is pointless and unnecessary - please do not do this.

Just trying to preserve the fine community that we have all helped to develop. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
Rod

I was just going to leave it at that but Todd would've whacked me!

I agree Rod, the ole one or two word posts on "other" sites  or one's with only a smiley or two never did sit too well with me personally.

I dunno about the "bumping" of old threads though, sometimes that can be very beneficial and amusing in some instances. :D Some old threads contain some very good information or can bring back some good memories or "lessons learned" that may be a good review every now and then.

My apology for the threadjack, Rod. Even though this good advice is lost on some, it's worthwhile information for the masses.

Good thing you got the "Echo. Echo." in there to get over the 3 word limit!

A classic asshat.
An ornery asshat.
Come on Kirk. Tictoc needs to be SEEN. He has to be HEARD from. Over 2000 posts in 4 months. He is who Todd is talking about.

No doubt. If Rod's message makes some members think before they post, it serves a purpose; but Wade has never taken advice to heart in the past, and he's not likely too in the future. Post whoring, profiteering, playing ignorant of the established practices of the forum; he's shown that he'll continue to disrepect Rod's community if he stands to gain from his actions.

I also have been at fault for posting a simple thumbs up recently and apologize for that. I have stopped welcoming others as well as it seems to be post padding to the max sometimes. Will start to post only when I feel the need to add some value or share something of our common joy and no I don't mean MattR's bead/butt plug fixation

Carry on gentlemen and ladies!

Good info Rod, I will make a conscious effort myself, as I am guilty of this from time to time.

You're such a tool, get a life. It's funny how you guys like to gang up, even more humorous how only about 5 members of the whole site seem to take part in your little tirades. If the constant badgering within your group makes you feel better, please by all means, amuse yourselves. But trust in this, with 100% conviction I can guarantee you, your posts, antics, name calling, badgering, belittling, will never wear me down or make me leave the site; if the time comes that I stop posting, it's simply because I've moved on and has squadouch to do with you or your buddies. All it does is continue to make you look like a putz and have the rest of the membership see the asshats that you really are.

Although it may seem like post padding, it's kind of a necessary evil (and I don't mean evil in a bad way) as to make the new members feel welcome. I think the sentence or two it takes to welcome someone does more good for the new member and community than damage it does as far as space used. Just my thoughts.

Normaly when I post to welcome a new member I usualy post only a welcome and where I'm from. Is this still ok.

Matt has a plug fixation?!

I'll keep an eye out for these tactics and let you know who's doing them.... :whistling: !!!

Although...the old posts are what make CP a pleasure...they show the then an now of passes/people/porn - oops.

Thanks for the shot across the bow!

Don't get me wrong welcoming new folks is a good thing, but I'm refraining from it as it seemed to be the only posting I was doing for a while. YMMV

All due respect, Neal, but you're doing a great job of feeding that need.

Tony, I disagree. There is significant value in both the "thumbs up" posts and the "Welcome aboard" messages. Think of them as a vote of confidence. MattR, being CP's #1 member gets a grandfather exemption to from post padding scrutiny.

edit: duh...

I can't help it smurfy I'm trying to get my post count up. 6 years and 2000 posts is embarrasing... attention whore that I am.
