Puppy Pass II

The Background: Ok folks, here it is… Puppy Pass II. This pass will be open on a first PM, first serve basis with the following restrictions: 1) you must meet the 'gimmick' criteria listed below (hint- you have to have a dog!) and 2) you must be a member with a minimum of 150 posts OR have been a member for 6 months on Cigar Pass without having had a meltdown, any unresolved controversy, yada yada yada. This is not going to be a pass exclusively of high end sticks... I hope that I've got a fairly well balanced selection of premiums and daily smokers, NC's and ISOMs.

The Pass: I got this idea from a thread some time ago, where everyone posted pictures and info on their pets. As most people know (or would assume) I'm very much into my dogs. So to keep it simple, and run with a theme, this pass is for dog owners. The 'gimmick' for this pass is not only cigars, but dog treats. Every pass participant is expected to put into the box, their dogs favorite treat. A bone, treats, cookies, whatever. The next person in the pass gets those treats for their dog, and replaces the treat with their dogs favorite. And so on down the pass. So hopefully everyone not only gets some great cigars, but their dogs get to participate and enjoy some new goodies as well.

The Rules: (my apologies to all the other passes I stole these from…) that are FINAL.

1. When you receive the pass, please do an inventory and make sure everything is there and numbered correctly!

2. Please inspect the box and packaging materials for proper cigar packing and RH%. Either post your concern or contact me directly via PM.

3. Do not remove the cigars from their baggies unless they are part of your approved P/T's.

4. Please post your proposed P&T's in the forum prior to the pass arriving to you. If anyone has an issue with someone else's plays, please be polite about it and post your concerns in the forum.

5. Put & Takes's (P/T's) should be: A) value for value, B) ISOM for ISOM, C) NC for NC, D) Premium for Premium, and E) Rarity for Rarity. (Rarity trumps value, BTW and age factors in slightly as well...)

6. In the dog treats area, anything not professionally/commercially sealed should be double ziplocked or sealed in some form or fashion so that it DOES NOT LEAK, STAIN, SMELL-UP or OTHERWISE ENDANGER the cigars also in the box. Please use common sense in this area… such as liquids are a bad idea! If there is any question or concerns, contact me via PM and I'll let you know.

7. Post your dog(s) name and brief description of the included dog treat as well as your dog(s) opinion of what they got. (tail wags, barfed it up, and so on)

8. Please notify next person in line via a post in this thread prior to shipping to confirm they are ready to recieve the pass.

9. Ship the package via USPS PRIORITY and post the Delivery Confirmation Number (DC#) in the forum. For you newer CP members, use online shipping from USPS.Com - you get free DC#'s

10. Give your dog(s) a scratch for me and most of all, Have fun!

Ok... looks like this is rolling along nicely!

I added one slot (#13) as George whined and whined to be let in ( :laugh: ) - I have one more personal invite out there for someone who wined about not getting in last years Puppy Pass... so that may be slot #14.

I will max this out at #15 (one more person) so if someone wants it, PM ME ASAP! If no one asks by sundown Sunday it's closed.


Just so everyone knows, Desert Rat does not meet the minimum requirements at this exact point in time- HOWEVER, by the time the pass gets to him he will have 6 months on, so I allowed him in.

Everyone is clear on the way this pass works? if not, PM me. in a nutshell, you buy or make your dogs favorite treat - be it a bone, cookie, whatever... - and put it in the pass, along with your puts for your takes on the cigars. The next person in line takes those treats you put in, gives them to his dog(s), and does his takes/puts on the cigars, and so on. So not only do you get some tasty cigars, but your dog(s) get some new, tasty treats.

You may want to contact the person before or after you to verify things on treats. If your dog has certain allergies, or cannot handle something like a BIG bone, that sort of thing. Otherwise the sky is the limit... just be sure the cigars are not endangered by the treat you put in, as the cigars are the main reason for this pass!

and a commentary on what treat your dog got, and his/her/their opinion on that treat is always fun to hear.

PS---I got some cheese over here for poor ol' Georgie, He doesn't even have a dog, does he? I guess he can eat the dog treat and do a review for us :laugh: .

I worked on the pass order... the first post reflects the order as it stands right now. If there is some reason you do not want to be, or can not be, in the position you are presently in, please let me know ASAP! Looks like it will come down the west coast, across to Texas, up into the heartland, over to, and up, the east coast, then back to AK via a stop mid-USA again.

the only change, barring any complaints from the pass participants, will be if the #14 slot ever gets around to PM'ing me (must be having fun in wine country!) and if someone wants the #15 position.
