Okay, you just like a semi pricey cigar.. Youre puffin away the 1st 10-15 puffs of a nice double corona gauge cigar... then BAM!. Something has come up and you have to extinguish the cigar!

Whats a proper "shelf life" of this partially smoked cigar?. Can it be saved?, Can it be re-introduced to the humidor for a few hours/days? Or will that contaminate the others?. Please help, 80% of a La Aroma de Cuba is facing the trash can. I know that may not be a "Pricey" cigar to most of you, but this was my 1st and I kinda liked it.

I wouldn't place it back in a humidor. You'll contaminate the other cigars. Best thing to do is to get a cigar tube, found here: http://www.cigarpass.com/store/cases_tubes.htm

That way you can put it in the tube isolated, and it should last the rest of the day, maybe until the next day. All depends on what your tastes are. Always blow the smoke out of the cigar before re-storing it. Just my opinion...

NO NO never put it back in a humi. Put in any empty grill with the cover on, and it will last ok for a day or two depending on the weather. Let it just die itself out please do,t put it out like a cigarette. Another trick before you set it down blow threw it it will clear it for relight.

I personally just toss the cigar. I never relight one after I have smoked on it. I watched OpusXKC cut the unlit part and let it sit out over night. He is the only one I know that will relight a cigar after 12 hours or for an extended amount of time. But I am retired so all I have is time. :)

Thank you Gentlemen, I didnt even think of the cigar tube, ive seen em for sale. I'll pick me one up this week.

But I am retired so all I have is time
Im on disability, I have time as well, just not the pension fund to toss $7 cigars :p

I think I have to tend to agree with this one though
Something should never just "come up" when smoking a cigar...unless it is something that will make you rich, then you can just buy another cigar. Thusly, the circle of life!
.

I may put in my Sigtag "Call back later, im smokin!"... catchy? :)

After many uneven buring monte 4, Relighting is not a good option. But if you want to just clean off all the ash and blew before and while you light up. Just my $0.02.

In my experience, anything that I've let sit more than half an hour or so gets harsh and acrid. With the number of cigars I smoke these days (1-3/week), it isn't worth it for me to relight anyhting that's been out for longer than that.

No worries, dpenix. I've been stressed lately so I've been on edge. I'll know to expect more in the future.

Wilkey

I for one will not smoke a cigar if I don't have the time, that's why I smoke at night before bed. Now my father he love to smoke the same or several smaller cigars the entire day, relighting them several times. He even leaves them outside for over 12 hrs and in the morning grabs his paper and relights the cigar he left the night before. He says it gains in strength that way   .
