The Blind Shall Lead the Blind Pass ???
Ever smoke something that everyone says is great, but you just don't seem to see what they do? You, my friend are obviously BLIND. :0
As a newbie, most of what I buy is based on reviews/recommendations. Some of these are great, some not so great. Since I don't smoke that frequently, if I did not enjoyed my last experience with a cigar, I'm not likely to give it a second chance (especially considering the number of cigars that I have not yet given a first chance). As a result, I have accumulated a number of supposedly good cigars that I'm just not going try again.
If you have some cigars that are supposed to be good, based on reviews, price, recommendations, or past experience, but they don't do it for you, then this pass is for you.
RULES
1)Even though it's not for you, you must have reason to believe that your puts are good cigars. Reasons could include:
--rave reviews
--personal recommendations
--past experience[/I]
2)You have to include a story for your puts. This is nothing huge, just a sentince or two, up to a novel if the mood strikes you. For the purpose of this pass a story could mean:
--how you were convinced to buy,
--what makes the cigar not for you
--a review,
--any combination of the above
--something else related to the put.
3)Typical Cigar Pass rules apply(that's a link)
However, in the case of this pass, quantity for quantity and value for value don't really make a lot of sense. As a guideline lets keep things to a minimum MSRP of $2. The goal here is to keep things out of the gutter, but common sense should prevail (for example a 5 year old connie 84 with an MSRP of $1.20 would still be an acceptable put). Obviously, if you bought a box of AF Anejos and found that you don't like them after all, they would be welcome here too.
4)No limit on number of puts or takes. Please be considerate of other players and try to make sure that those after you have a variety of cigars to choose from.
5)Communication is key. I expect pass members to post as their turns come up to let everyone know that they are available to recieve the pass.
If you can't deal with these rules, then this pass is not for you. Even if you are BLIND
I want to open this up to 10-12 members. Please PM me and post in this thread if you are interested. If there are any FOGs that would volunteer to review my final member list to weed out any scammers, I would appreciate it.
If there is interest, I plan to start this pass in early February. I have everything that I need except for a tupperware container (which I will be picking up this weekend)
My initial lineup will consist of about 24 cigars, none of them ISOM. Many will be repeats (there will be a total of about 11 different cigars).
