No I don't have the box, I posted looking for information on it before bidding, I went to that site hoping people would post information on it if they knew I had it instead of telling someone who is potentially buying it that its a nice box yada yada yada. No one on the other sites gave me any information on it so I decided to pretend I was buying it. Posting the ebay link was the only way to show them the pictures and I figured if I didn't act like it was an advert, then they would take it down. Plus with the ebay link I had no where else to put it. I was hoping someone would say "Its generating a lot of interest because," and give me some info on the box. Sorry if I made you all mad, but I really didn't think that out of all the cigar sites out there on the net, someone would see it here and there, and say I was trying to scam people or anything of that nature.
 
You can't put one over on the members at CP. Too many very knowledgeable people here that look out for each other.....

Nice of you to apologize though.

Next time just ask for help without the deception.

Why don't you post an introduction here : Introduce Yourself and stick around awhile instead of searching for information on those other sites.

I assume that this was a roundabout way of drumming up interest in your auction. I'm an active member on another (non-cigar) collector's forum that also relies heavily on trustworthiness and transparency between members to ensure honest dealings where a lot of money can be at stake. If this had happened there, the original poster would have woken up to a few different bids well into the tens of thousands of dollars. They would have been waiting for a very long time for the money to come through though. Those particular bidders have pretty spotty feedback for some reason...

Bottom line is that he is stupid ass punk who tried to scam multiple communities, particularly (in my mind anyway) ours. He made this bed of his, not us. No harm in knowing who this fella actually is, rather than, coward that he is, attempt to hide behind anonymity in the course of his schemes. Contrary, I think the communities are better served by it - lest he continue his efforts under different monikers.

Edited to add - this wasn't actually carried out that far. For instance, his apparent addy and phone number are quite easily found - yet noone here has posted it. Rather, simply pointed out his name and his own, self-listed posts/info from other public forums. He placed it out there. Big difference in that and in sending the Gimp over to his house.

As soon as someone posts info on the web, it's not "private" information any more. If Google finds it and it doesn't take a password to get to, it's pretty clearly in the public domain.

What I can't figure out is why you guys hang out if you don't like the way things are run. Holmes, you've been around a while and you know how the forums roll. You guys both enjoy the benefits of BOTL's that watch all our backs, but are quick to criticize the way it's being done. I don't get it.

Oh, and by the way, your language and metaphor is deplorable. You won't be able to offend me with words or images but there are ladies that occasionally browse the forums. Bad form.
