Just scored an Ashton San Cristobal Clasico 5x50.

I am hoping to smoke it on Saturday. And post a review.

Sorry for the bad pics but this camera is not to good with macro.

Ooooooo.....they're shipping already. My wine coolerdor is full. My two desktop humis are full.

Does this mean I get to raise the terror level?

Peter, how You are going to bring it all here? :D

Probably just a 50count travel humidor at first and then more as I go back and forth. My family is going to be building a walk-in humi at our house near Chelm within the next 5yrs or so as part of our expansion, so eventually, I imagine most of my cigars are going to end up here (as well as quite a few more).

Btw, I'm coming on like Sept 20 - we've got to Herf before my classes start.

I was able to try a few of these at the show and was very dissappointed. We had 4 or 5 guys from different shops with us that were also very disappointed. I am a huge Pepin fan and carry everything he makes that's available to me. This will be with the Troya Clasico as one that I will not be carrying.

Great, I was looking forward to these. I guess I'll have to try a few myself.

One man's crap is another's treasure...
I too, was looking forward to this smoke. I will take Al's opinion under advice, but still give one a shot. Nice to see a real pic of the smoke though, the promo pics make everything look good.

Keep in mind that the humidity in Houston was about 90% and the cigar was very fresh. So I'm just judging this based on my experience. The cigar wasn't horrible, just didn't live up to my expectations.

I just smoked one of these that I bought from my B&M today. I normally try to let new cigars rest for at least a week, preferably a month or more, because the B&M keeps them wetter than I like, but I just couldn't hold back on this one. It was all right, but it was very obviously too fresh. It burned uneven enough that I had to dip my finger in my water a few times to slow down one side and I touched it up twice, but I attribute that to being too wet. It was VERY spicy, hot spice dominated the whole cigar. It was definitely full-bodied and pretty strong in the nicotine department - I have a fair nic buzz going, but not getting sick or anything. Construction was perfect, with a nice, easy draw and tons of white smoke. That smoke was harsh - it stung my eyes and burned when I inhaled more than a tiny bit of it (reminded me of fresh AF SG's in that regard). IMO it has potential, and I will be buying several of each size my B&M puts out to let rest and try again later. Hopefully with a few months, the moisture will even out, the spice will tone down a little, and some other flavors will come into the picture.

I smoked the pigtailed one yesterday.
It reminded me of a La Aurora on steroids.
It had the same undertone, but wih a lot of spice(which I'm good with).

With age, the blend will probably mix very well.
For the money...it's a tough choice to buy boxes of - just to age.
