How about a new forum - News & Politics?

Should CP add a "News & Politics" forum under the Lobby?

What do you think? If it's in a category of it's own and you don't like politics or can't play nice, then don't go into that forum. Like the idea?

I have always had a problem with people discussing politics in the Lobby. The Lobby is not for that, however if we designate a forum just for News/Politics, then it's totally separate from the rest, and if you don't like it, you simply don't have to go in there.

Let me know what you think...
 
I like the idea but then I want a separate part of the saloon for scotch too. If I get it, fine. If I don't I can live with the way things are.
 
It would be fine. I think it would be enjoyable. We just need to keep it civil and not make enemies out of friends.
 
Looks like we'll get the new forum then. Again, if you don't want to see politics, don't go into the forum. People just can't seem to obey the lobby rules, so we'll just create a new forum. :)
 
Much as I love debating/discussing things, I think a political lobby could get ugly.

I could but it shouldn't have to. And when it does, members should be warned ;)

Without seeing the body language and facial expression it's hard to say if Rod is being sarcastic or not. ???
 
I'm with Moki on this one, I think there's plenty of other forums for "ugly stuff".
 
And by forums, I meant boards. Or something. I think I'm going to find some coffee.
 
I like the idea of an area to discuss politics. If it can be moderated. So often it turns into a debate which isn't that informative and dabates can get personal very quickly

I like to discuss cigars here, not politics. But that's just me. Go with the majority :thumbs:
 
i think after the election nobodys gunna be talkin politics just bitching or complaining either way so whats the point of a new forum.. just my .02$

Good move, Rod! Ask the folks what they want and there ya go. In my experience, most discussions turn out to be civil. :thumbs:

Looks like we'll go ahead and continue with adding the new forum. We'll make it a one month project, and after a month if I determine it to be causing more harm than good, it will be removed.

Please keep in mind, if you don't want to see politics, then please do not enter that forum. I also expect anyone who participates in that forum to be adult-like and not cuss or flame other members.
