Rod, I will start this rant by sayin' you and I see eye to eye on a number of issues and you have my support(for what it's worth) in what direction you decide to take the board. However, I DO NOT agree with givin' Barney another chance!!! :angry:

It seems in todays society, we can say whatever we want and then come back tomorrow and say we're "sorry" for it. Or "...we must have been out of our mind..." when we said it. Or, "...my life is in shambles right now..." etc, etc, etc!!!

BULL$HIT!!!! Barney has gone and not only called out a few folks around here, he has gone after Brother Leebo's WIFE, MOTHER and threatened PHYSICAL HARM!!! :angry: :angry: :angry:

The later would be tolerable if worked out at some later date. The first two are like havin' a man spit on ya. You can do anything worse in my opinion. Ain't no one's wife or mother needs to be called out in this forum or any other. THAT is a CLASSLESS, IMMORAL and VALUELESS act. :angry:

I may have this opinion because I consider myself to be "old school". It goes back to the way I was raised. Barney, ya call out a man's wife back here and you're gonna be fightin'. Obviously, over the net, you can't get what you need, so that is why there are rules. Rod, I recommend you BAN this guy NOW!!! No second chances for this type of activity. PERIOD!!! :angry:

Rod, I ain't playin' in the "pi$$in' matches" and won't from here out. Yea, it's fun till ya get the folks in here that don't care about CP and where it's goin'! There are other boards for that and we need to let them know it ain't HERE! There is a core of great guys here(or at least was), who know how to have a good time and when to call it quits, and I hate to see it ruined by newbies with no CLASS, and "Look at me now" individuals!!! CP sucks because of this and I ain't lettin' this go without voicin' my opinion. I consider CP as my first stop when goin' to cigar boards. I want it to stay that way. We'll see!!!!

Rod, your board(our community)! I ain't callin' you out. I'm callin' out all of the individuals that fit into the same category as Barney! I don't want THEM here and I believe my feelings are mutual!!!

I told Barney last night that I could not condone threatening anyone here, and that I thought he was out of line. It's just crossing a line that should not be crossed.

Now it's been viewed over 100 times...... I think the problem is that nobody wants to speak up to what they read in the postings because they are afraid of being attacked themselves. I for one find it disgusting that one person verbally attacks another persons family member. I'm am glad I joined CP before reading "Eleuthardt!, Alive".... Newbies who joined after that must be saying "What the F**k is up with this site"

I know he apologized..... but I believe it will eventually be up to Rod what happens to him....

well, I’ll speak for myself when I say that I’m usually pretty gun-shy speaking up in threads that call to question situations that I’m not directly involved in, especially being a newbie.

my opinion is that threats made, whether publicly or in pm, against a member and/or his family go FAR beyond anything I'd consider to be acceptable or even tolerable.
it's something I think we all need to imagine being done to us, regardless of the circumstances, in order to assess the magnitude of it.

I've had no personal interaction with servebig, whatsoever, but at some point, I guess I think it becomes the "duty" of any and all CP members to speak-up when something's this far over the line, unless, of course, they don't mind this sort of thing setting a precedent for the future of CP.

I don't know enough to know whether his apology was sincere or not, but even under the most optimistic assumptions, the question seems to be- is there a point to which a member can go, and it not be tolerated, period?
I think there should be, and I think this qualifies.

Well, not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Gotta agree with bruddah Floyd here. Threats are easily made behind the anonymity and distance of the internet, but are still threats nonetheless. I don't think a second chance is warranted for something that is so obviously very inappropriate. Just my $.02

I think second chances are warranted for most everything. The physical violence implications go too far, but I wouldn't post my opinion if that were it. The wife and daughter stuff just goes well beyond "most everything" so far as to make this discussion feel pointless. IMO, this infraction goes light-years beyond any of the recent flame-fests, and makes Moki and CC look like two old friends chatting. There's no reason for wife/daughter language unless you're trying to push someone to the breaking point - meaning actually get them on a plane chasing you.

Rod: If you're the moderator - then I'll respect your decision fully and I suspect most everyone else will as well (whether they like it or not). However, if you're the admin of self-moderated group... then I think self-moderation is what this thread is attempting to accomplish.
