Comparable to Vegas Robaina on sale.

I've tried a few of your cigars. Not bad. Not Cuban but not bad. Reasonable for the price.

However, do you realize some retailers (including a chain of brick and mortars in my area) are representing these as genuine Cuban "seconds" that are smuggled out to a third country and repackaged? If this is a sales tactic that you are asking these retailers to use, you are undermining what might otherwise be a respectable bundle cigar.

Wilkey.....how is that bundle of joy doing?

How good is "not bad"? Care to share a brief review?

Samantha is doing great. She's very easy so far. But she's just starting to spend more time waking instead of sleeping so I think things will change soon. :)

I've tried the copycat PSD4, VR Unicos, Hoyo something (Epi2?), and the Cohiba Sig VI. To me, they tasted all pretty similar. Medium-full tobacco flavor with a bit of tang and edge. Not quite as smooth as their namesakes (especially the Cohiba and Hoyo. Honestly, a decent yard gar and fair for the price. More full bodied than a lot of other inexpensive bundlers.

I'm just taken aback by the sales tactics of the one big retailer in this area. I'd like to get CigPuffer's response on this and I hope he will return to talk with us.

Something about this guy and his web site just raise the red flags with me. Enough so that I'm reluctant to use a credit card. I doubt he'll do anything other than just post his specials.

I suspect you're right, Bruce.

Don't know if this means anything but I PM'd him and e-mailed the web site with the same question and got the same answer below. I don't think he is actively trying to deceive.

What type of tobacco?

Response:

Jeff,
Thanks for your email.
Habanos Puros are sun grown and aged for five years in Nicaragua.
CFB’s in Honduras also sun grown. All cigars are Cuban Seed Tobaccos aged to perfection.

I’m sorry Wilkey, Bruce.
I have quite busy schedule and is hard for me to participate actively in discussion.
Please, believe me I have nothing to do with described sales tactics.
I’m shocked.
I am only retailer myself and have no power to ask anybody to do anything.
I prefer comparables to Cuban originals.
I believe they are better in many ways, are legal and deserve respect.
My Customers share my point of view. Check some opinions posted at: http://cfb4u.com/testimonials.html please.
I have reasons to be proud of what I’m doing.

Respectfully yours, Andrew.

I wanted to report back on this situation.

I went and spoke with the retailer a few weeks ago and told him what you told me. He sort of recanted and said that it was something your salesman told him. The humidor manager has since backed off on pushing these as smuggled Cuban cigars. I think he just needed a little "correction."

As I said above, these are not bad bundlers and I'd smoke 'em.
